New Chromium VI free surface treatment (09/16/2006)
From 2006, Legris will deliver to its customers chromium VI free high pressure couplings. This new surface treatment has been specifically designed and developed by Legris for its high pressure ranges* of couplings.
Excellent corrosion resistance
The new, chromium VI free, surface treatment of Legris high pressure couplings*
has been salt spray tested 300 hours resistance to the formation of white rust and 500 hours resistance to red rust. Corrosion resistance is significantly better than that of the A3C surface treatment previously used.
Respect for the environment and public health
Legris has always promoted the use of non dangerous substances in the manufacture of its products in order to protect the environment and public health. With this new surface treatment, Legris' high pressure ranges respect European directive ELV 2000/53/CE - restriction of dangerous substances used in the production of cars – applicable 1st July 2007.
* all Legris high pressure couplings are coated with this new surface treatment, except weld nipples that remain phosphated.
