Environment: Process underway (11/12/2007)
LEGRIS is accelerating its commitment with regard to environmental protection. A new stage is now ongoing: ISO 14001 certification. This new referential meets with the needs of our customers, which include growing environmental requirements. By doing so, LEGRIS has joined the initiative launched by the group, LEGRIS INDUSTRIES, member of the U.N. world pact. These actions include, in particular, the implementation of a management system designed to reduce the effects of its activities on the environment and to implement continuous improvement.
Several LEGRIS production sites are, at present, undergoing certification. Furthermore, the analysis of the life cycles of LEGRIS products is on-going. Our aim is to establish the environmental profile for every LEGRIS product, taking into account all the stages of the process involved; from the extraction of raw materials to the production and finally the destruction of the product, including transportation, energy consumption and recycling.
